Silent Nights sleep patch: an evening ritual for restful sleep

The Silent Nights sleep patch is LifeWave's evening patch with no melatonin and no sleeping pills. Here is how it is made, when and where to apply it, and what else helps you sleep better.
Silent Nights is LifeWave's evening phototherapy patch. According to the company, it helps you relax after the day, and relaxation in turn improves the quality and length of sleep.
How does the Silent Nights patch work?
The patch responds to body heat and reflects specific wavelengths of light. It contains no melatonin, medicines or sleeping pills, and it does not enter the skin.
A sleep patch without melatonin: how is it different from a sleeping pill?
Sleeping pills and melatonin supplements work through substances that enter the body. Silent Nights works differently: it is a patch with no active substances that, according to the company, helps you relax — and a calm state in the evening in itself helps you sleep better. So it makes sense to see the patch as part of an evening ritual rather than an “off” button.
Silent Nights patch placement: where and how to apply it
- In the evening, on clean, dry skin, at one of the recommended points.
- Wear it for up to 12 hours, then take it off.
- Drink enough water throughout the day.
- A pack holds 30 patches — one month.
It helps to apply the patch at the same time each evening, for example after a shower: that way it becomes a signal that the day is over. If you're unsure about the point, ask your consultant.
Common evening ritual mistakes
- Applying the patch and going straight to your phone. A bright screen and work chats make it hard to relax.
- Going to bed at a different time every night. Sleep needs a rhythm.
- Applying the patch to damp skin or over cream — clean, dry skin is better.
- Expecting results from the first night. Judge it over several weeks, not one night.
Who is Silent Nights for?
- People who find it hard to relax in the evening after a busy day.
- People who want to build a healthy evening ritual.
What does an evening with a sleep patch look like?
An example of a simple ritual: an hour before bed, dim the lights and put work aside, take a warm shower, apply Silent Nights to clean, dry skin, air out the bedroom. Fill the remaining time with something calm — a book, stretching, slow breathing. Techniques that help you relax are collected in “Breathing techniques for sleep”. Take the patch off in the morning — there's no need to wear it for longer than 12 hours.
How to tell whether the ritual is working
The easiest way is to keep a short sleep journal: what time you went to bed, how quickly you relaxed, how you woke up and how you felt during the day. A tracker works too, but don't get fixated on the numbers — see “Sleep tracker accuracy”. Your main guide is how you feel in the morning.
What else helps you sleep better?
The patch works best alongside a routine: a consistent bedtime, a cool, dark bedroom, less screen time before bed. Why sleep is your main recovery tool is explained in “How much sleep do you need?”, and ideas for your ritual are in “Evening rituals for solid sleep”. If you're used to going to bed late, “How to fix your sleep schedule” will come in handy.
In the evening, Silent Nights can be paired with the Cellergize Evening drink — see “Cellergize Evening”.
